Many people have the impression that educational toys revolve around intellectual development. However, this is not necessarily the case. An educational toy can also foster physical growth.

Toys that help children become more coordinated are educational toys. If the toy helps the child develop a better sense of how to interact with the physical world it is teaching lessons. Even the Big Wheel that many adults had as children is considered an educational toy.

Sports equipment can be educational toys. When a child plays with a basketball with an adult, he is developing coordination. This is essential for mental and physical growth.
