Toys for tots is another name for a toy drive. A toy drive is a way to gather toys for underprivileged children. Toys for tots programs will be increasingly important as the US deals with the current recession.

Toys for tots campaigns help bring joy and toys during tough times. Many families reported that during the 2008 Christmas season they could not afford to purchase toys for their children. Because of layoffs and rising costs of consumer goods they purchased clothing instead of toys.

To donate to a toys for tots program do a little research to find out where a drop-off location is. Educational toys are always best. Many states and organizations such as the Marines have toys for tots programs. Simply search an Internet search engine for “toys for tots" and drop-off locations will come up as links.
